SJPhone setup guide for Mac OS X

Before you can make calls from your computer with Broadband Phone you'll need to download, install and configure suitable software.

The SJPhone software is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.

This software works like a telephone and allows you to make calls from your desktop.

Installing up SJPhone

1. Download the SJPhone software from the SJ Labs website.
2. Open the disk image and drag the SJPhone application to your Applications folder.
3. Launch SJPhone.

This will load the main SJPhone window:

4. Click ‘SJPhone’ from the Finder Bar, choose ‘Preferences’ from the menu and on the following window choose the ‘Profiles’ tab and select ‘New…’:

5. Choose a name for your account and enter this into the ‘Profile name:’ box (the File name box will fill in automatically as you type your chosen account name) and then click OK:

6. The SJPhone program will then open the Profile Options window. Select the ‘SIP Proxy’ tab and enter the settings as follows:

1. Proxy domain: sip2.plus.net
2. Port number (this is the box that immediately follows): 5060
3. Proxy for NAT: nat.plus.net
   
4. Port number (this is the box that immediately follows): 5082

8. Click OK and you will be taken back to the Profiles tab in the Preferences window. Your newly created profile should show in the list with a status of ‘incomplete’. Don’t worry, we’re going to fix this now.

9. Highlight your profile and click the ‘Initialize…’ button to be presented with a username and password prompt:

Enter your username and password as they appear in the email you have received detailing your account settings and click ‘OK’.

1. Account: Your SIP ID
2. Password: Your SIP Password

Your account is now configured and you may start using the SJPhone software to make and receive calls.

Please Note: Should you wish to change your password for any reason:

1. Select the SJPhone menu from the top bar and choose ‘preferences’.
2. Select the ‘Profiles’ tab.
3. Highlight the profile for which you wish to change the password.
4. Click the ‘Initialize’ button..

This will bring up the username and password box. Once you have changed them click ‘OK’ and your new details will be saved.
