PlusNet plc are currently recruiting for a Web Designer within their e-Marketing Department based in Sheffield.

We're looking for a creative thinking web designer to join our eMarketing team. You'll be required to work on a range of projects from online marketing material, emails, micro-sites and UI design, through to the occasional piece of print based design work too. You'll need to be an energetic and enthusiastic person to join this friendly and dynamic team, working in a fast paced environment where plenty of ideas and good communication skills are essential.

You should be well versed in all the usual software packages, and have a good knowledge of CSS/XHTML ideally with at least a couple of year’s commercial experience.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Create concepts and design work for a range of marketing activities including: websites, email marketing, viral, DM and print advertising.
• Make sure that all creative output produced follows the brand guidelines and maintains the company image.
• To simplify the user journeys on the website so that we can increase customer satisfaction and ultimately increase sales conversion.
• Provide feedback and offer solutions to project briefs when needed, and contribute to the documentation process where necessary.
• Design & produce graphics, HTML templates and other assets that are required to meet the brief, whether the client is internal or external.
• Time planning and good self time management in order to effectively communicate and deliver to deadline.
• Awareness of the ISP industry, competitors and new technologies.

Essential Skills:

• Demonstrate a strong creative flair with an eye for detail and good sense of layout.
• Strong knowledge of the following software; Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Illustrator.
• Strong knowledge of creating optimised images for the web.
• CSS/XHTML hand coding skills and the ability to debug code.
• Knowledge of and adherence to web standards and cross browser compatibility.
• Ability to work to brand guidelines and a brief where necessary.
• Ability to work with and apply logical structured naming conventions when dealing with images, HTML, CSS, and other file types within directories.
• A good knowledge of the web industry and online marketing.
• Willingness to work with established and emerging alternative technologies.
• Effective and clear communication skills.
• The ability to work comfortably individually as well as in a team.

Desirable Skills:

• Design related qualification.
• Experience of Search Engine Optimisation techniques.
• Experience of web analytics tools e.g. WebTrends.
• Experience of content management system functionality and development.
• Knowledge of software packages such as Flash, InDesign/Quark Xpress.
